Minutes August 9, 2005 Treasurer's Report - After checks are paid out, we have a fairly substantial balance remaining. T-shirts were handed out and were partially subsidized by the chapter. Web Editor - The website is being updated regularly. Information on the mushball tournament will be updated shortly. Community VP - The t-shirts are in. If you would like one, pay $10. The nametags are being ordered, and the softball tournament is the main area of focus currently. A couple of ideas for future community projects were brought up. Membership VP - Chaffee, Heidi, Sara, Brett, Mike, and Kate are due up for renewal. Please pay Joanne the $50 renewal fee. The carnival surveys were evaluated, and Joanne printed out charts and graphs to demonstrate areas of community interest. E-mail Joanne for a computerized copy. The Domino's Pizza fundraiser is over. If you still have some cards, please return them to Joanne ASAP. SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT - September 10 - For the softball tournament, we will be using 16" softballs. If you are interested in playing or know people who would like to enter a team, e-mail Ray. There are flyers for advertising and donations. If you'd like a soft copy, e-mail Ray at ray_5_33@yahoo.com or Joanne at joanne.rinaldo@motorola.com. CAR WASH - September 3 - We will be having a car wash with a boy scout group that will benefit the troop for the Clearbrook group. We are in need of more members to help. If you can help, contact Mike. Sponsors are needed for car wash products. Newsletter Editor - There is not currently a newsletter editor. If you are interested in doing the newsletter, let Mike know. Board Meeting - Board Meetings will be Wednesday, August 24th. Board meetings will now be the 4th Wednesday of every month at Caribou. TASTEFULLY SIMPLE PARTY - Friday, October 7 - Kate suggested the Tastefully Simple party as a fundraiser on a Friday night. Best Pizza Contest - November; Erin will be the chair. Regional & State Meetings - We won 8 awards at the regional meeting and 1 at the state! - Individual Area of Opportunity, Overall Outstanding Project of the 2nd Quarter, Progressive Dinner -Business Area of Opportunity, Overall Outstanding Project, 2nd Quarter, 2005 Crazy Carnival -International Area of Opportunity Outstanding Project, 2nd Quarter, Movie Tickets for Heifer International -Runner-up Outstanding President for June, Mike Cooper -Runner-up Outstanding Jaycee for May, Joanne Rinaldo -Runner-up Outstanding Rookie for May, Erin Smith -Outstanding state Rookie for May, Erin Smith -OUTSTANDING CHAPTER for May 2005! -OUTSTANDING CHAPTER for June 2005! Mike, Joanne, Rob, Kate, Mark, and Erin attended the regional meeting and learned about upcoming events. Contact them if you have any questions about regional events. Kate attended the state meeting and even won the write-up contest while she was there. :-) Region board nominations - Thursday, September 1, Round Lake American Legion. It will be at 6:00 p.m., followed by Jaycee Jeopardy. State meeting - November 11-13 in St. Louis. The Schaumburg Jaycees are selling alcohol at the Septemberfest on September 3rd, 4th, or 5th.
