Guest Speaker - Betsy Grindol, North Region ID Director & Competitions Director: Betsy spoke about the portfolio competitions entitled Brownfield, Armbruster, and Mungenast; she has been a participant and judge in these competitions. They are helpful for preparing for interviews. The speak-up competition helps to prepare people to be confident in their speeches. The write-up will help improve written communication skills. Debate assists in preparing for presenting new ideas. Jaycee Jeopardy is for people who know or want to know about all aspects of the Jaycees (read Legacy of Leadership). Jaycee Idol is modeled after reality shows to judge on being a "pop star." We did a mock competition that ended in a tie!
