Treasurer Report (Rob Smith): We have enough money in our account rolled over from last year.  The insurance payment will be made soon.

Introduction of Visitors & Guests
 	Schaumburg (Jen/Keith/Holly): Schaumburg is hosting the regional meeting on 1/20 at the Elk Grove VFW Hall.  It will start at 4:30.  If you'd like to go, let a board member know.
 	Northbrook (Jeremy): Northbrook is having a Mardi Gras party on 2/10.  Cost is $30, and it proceeds Camp New Hope.

Swearing in of new Board: Joanne swore Erin in as President.  Erin swore in Rob & Michelle to the 2007 board.

President (Erin Smith): The 2007 calendar and budget have been laid out.  Look at the website for any date changes.

Membership/COB (Joanne Rinaldo, Membership VP/COB): The Sudoku Tournament will be on 3/3.  Venues are being determined.  We are hoping to recruit new members at this event, so invite your friends.  The New Member Orientation will be on 1/23, and members and guests are welcome.  Joanne sent in award submissions for several projects, board members, and books as well.

Community (Louise Kopp, Community VP/in absence, Erin): The Fun Fair is tentative scheduled for 3/10.  We plan to have several activities for children in the area to do for a very low price.  The Gang Awareness event is tentatively scheduled for 4/14.
 	
ID Project: Speak-Up Competition - We had a speak-up on "One Good Thing."  This idea came from the Tulsa Leadership Conference for the Jaycees, where one of the trainers suggested asking people for one good thing going on in their lives in lieu of asking how people are doing.  Each of the members and guests present at the meeting contributed.

Individual Development (Michelle Westfall, ID VP): There will be a speaker on taxes and financial planning at our next meeting on 2/13.  We will be going to Dinner by Design in Schaumburg on 2/24.  If you are interested, let a board member know.

Management: We are holding our Superbowl Squares fundraiser.  If you are interested in participating, let Joanne know at joanne.rinaldo@motorola.com.  We will be having a Shamrox outing on 2/11.  Cost is $15, of which $5 is going back to our chapter.  If you can go, let a board member know.  We plan to attend the HE Village Board Meeting on 2/19 at 8 p.m.

Region Director/Asst. (Chaffee/Joanne): Joanne told us that the 2007 region board is working on providing many opportunities for the members this year.  There will be training taking place on a regular basis, inexpensive for members.  Come out to the region meeting on 1/20 to find out more about this year's plans.

District Director (Keith McClenning): Keith is our new DD, and he's planning to come out and support us a lot this year.  The GA will be on 1/27 in Springfield.  Keith also gave out a survey to find out members' interests.  Northbrook is having a Mardi Gras party at the Grove on 2/10.  Mt. Prospect will be hosting a hospital visit on 2/17-18.

Award: The theme for this year is Hoffman Estates Jaycees: a Winning Team.  Each month, there will be an award to an outstanding member based around a particular support.  January's sport is skiing, and the Picking up speed award went to Louise, who has chaired her first project and stepped up to be a board member this year.  We're looking for great things from her this year!

The next meeting will be on 2/13 at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Creek Bowling Alley.
