Meeting Minutes January 10, 2006 Upcoming Events: 1/13 Jaycee Region Social - Round Lake American Region Hall (Rte. 134) 1/21 Regional Meeting 1/25 Board Meeting (Panera) 1/28 State Meeting 2/10 Region Social 2/11 Game Night 2/14 Meeting (open to everyone!) 2/22 Board Meeting 2/24 (tentative) Bowling Night Approved agenda: Kate, Erin RD - Ann Stechly, Region Director, visited from the region. Our district is Emerald City. Schaumburg, Elk Grove, Wheeling, and Round Lake are also in our district this year. The Region Social is this Friday at 7:00 at the Round Lake American Region Hall (Rte. 134). The Regional Jaycee meeting will be Sat., 1/21 is at the European Crystal Banquet Hall. You can register online at www.palatinejaycees.org or send a registration to the Palatine Jaycees at P.O. Box 1517, Palatine 60078. The State meeting will be on the weekend of 1/27-1/29. Some of us are planning to go on Saturday, 1/28 for the day. If you are interested in going, let Joanne know ASAP. The chapter plan need to be mailed or brought to the State meeting on 1/28. Old Business: Best Pizza Contest: The plaques have been given out and a CPG was sent in to the state. Pizzeria UNO: The final amounts made will be known soon. Schaumburg Wish Tree: Gifts were purchased for 5 people for the Schaumburg Wish tree using proceeds from the Best Pizza Contest. ID: We will be having an ID project, board game night at Heidi & Kevin's new house on Sat., Feb. 11th, pending their final approval. :-) Membership (Erin) - An updated roster will be sent out with the first newsletter. Dues will be due the 15th of each month. We will be doing some membership calling and M-Night activities. The possibility of joining Meet-up.com to recruit members, send coupons, or advertise in the Schaumburg Review was discussed. There will be a bowling night at Poplar Creek Bowling Alley on Fri., Feb. 24th or Sat., Feb. 25th at 7:00. $100 is allotted for food and bowling. Community (Michelle) - The ideas of doing a Walk-a-Thon for Leukemia and gang awareness project were discussed. Michelle will look into them, and Mike will talk to the HE Police. Chairman of the Board (Mike) - Mike will be doing the newsletter and blue chip as well as help with the chapter plan and meetings. President (Joanne) - Board meetings will be the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Panera at Golf & Meacham. The next board meeting will be 1/25. She is working on the chapter plan. The chapter plan was reviewed. Upcoming Events: Superbowl Squares: You can purchase squares for this fundraiser for $10 each. Prizes will be awarded to 4 winners. If interested, let a board member know. CPG was approved (Mike, Chaffee). March Madness: We may have brackets with winners and try to host the March Regional social.
