Minutes October 11, 2005 Membership: Members and guests were introduced. Treasurer: We still have sufficient money in our account. Web Editor: The website has undergone a design change. Check the website at www.hoffmanestatesjaycees.org. Community VP: Youth commission is looking for people to help with events for the youth in Hoffman Estates. For more information, see Ray. We may be able to work with the 4th of July commission. A committee is being formed to investigate this possibility, chaired by Mike. Ann Stechly spoke about the regional director position, as well as some of her goals for the following year. She gave out brochures and discussed some of the points at the meeting. Domino's Pizza Cards: Pizza cards were turned in. We are still missing several. If you have any in your possession, please let Mike know ASAP. Nametags have arrived! Ray distributed them at the meeting. Tastefully Simple: 10% will be donated to a local family for a Thanksgiving dinner. Make a Difference Day - Saturday, Oct. 22nd; Michelle is chairing this year's Make a Difference Day Food Drive. It will be at Valli's Grocery Store from 9-6. Please plan to come out to help recruit people to donate food. Best Pizza Contest: Friday, Nov. 4th, 7-8:30 p.m.; We need as much manpower as possible! If you can work between 5:30 and 9:00, please reply to this e-mail to let Erin know. Restaurants donate pizzas for the community to vote upon. Fourteen restaurants are currently interested in participating. Possible donations are for a local family affected by Katrina and wish tree children in Schaumburg & Hoffman Estates. Pizzeria UNO - Sunday, December 4th; Come to Pizzeria UNO at Woodfield that day and tell them you are with the Jaycees. They will donate a percentage of the profits to the Jaycees, which we plan to donate to the Benevolent Fund in Hoffman Estates.. Haunted House Visitation - Sunday, Oct. 30th; There will be a visitation to the Round Lake Jaycees Haunted House (Rte. 12 to Grand Ave., right to Rawlins). If you are interested in going, let Joanne know. Card party - Kevin offered to have a card party/social in November or December. Kari Green visited from the region. Here are upcoming regional events: Regional Meeting - Nov. 5th in Gurnee - Deadline for registration is Oct. 28th. Voting is at 4:00, and the cost is $20, or $25 at the door. Elections - Elections will be at the November meeting. Kate State Jaycees General Assembly - Nov. 11-13; If you are interested, see Mike. Palatine Jaycees Chili for Children - Nov. 6th at Dirty Nelly's in Palatine; if you're interested see Kate. Bingo Night - there is a possibility of working at a Bingo night.
