Tony Langston from Elk Grove spoke about the regional meeting on Saturday, November 4th. It is a costume/Halloween motif. Cost is $20/person. Treasurer (Rob): We have just under $3000. Insurance for next year will be about $1500. Community (Michelle): The woman from Shelter, Inc. may be coming to speak at a meeting. We will try to volunteer at Shelter, Inc. again soon. COB/Newsletter (Mike): The newsletter just went out. The next one will go out after the Pizza Contest. Local Directors (Chaffee/Kate): The Shamrox lacrosse game will be Sunday, February 11th at 3:00 at the Sears Center in Hoffman. We will be going as a region. Seats are $10. A press release was sent out. Best Pizza Contest - Nov. 3rd: People are still needed to work at the Best Pizza Contest. We will also be putting out flyers on Friday, Oct. 27th and stuffing bags & numbering plates on Sunday, Oct. 29th. Gang Awareness: Ray and Jeff are looking into the Gang Awareness project. An officer from Hoffman Estates will be leading the event. A location is being determined - possibly the police station. Toys for Tots: Karina is chairing this project and is collecting money and toys from area stores and businesses. Elections will be at 4:30 on 10/4. People running include Tami Curran - Treasurer, Richard Lewis & Kevin Burkhardt - District Directors, Mary Barr - Region Director. If you want to run, let Ann or a regional board member know. The state GA will be in Lisle, and the elections for state board will be there on Saturday afternoon. Oct. 22- Nov. 11 is a call for recruitment for nationals. Friday 10/13 there is a regional social to visit Haunted Houses. They will start in Lombard at 7:30, then go to McHenry and maybe to Palatine. To join them, e-mail Ann at jc_astechly@yahoo.com. Some revisions were made to the region constitution and will be voted on at the regional meeting. Ann is running for Community VP at the state level! The national president was just elected. His name is Chris Oldham. New members: Sarah Novey and Nichole Thieda were sworn in as our newest members! We voted for the Illinois State president to decide our chapter vote(s).
